beautiful

you should know that i rarely give out 10/10 and 5/5, so trust me when i say im not bullshitting on how much i like this song. Good use of hitting the tonic a beat before the measure ends, thats definatly a technique most people, including myself, cant pull off. Btw, was this in G minor? I'm just going off relative tuning, I dont have a piano or anything near me, but if I'm right, ill be pretty happy with myself.

very good

the syncopation seemed a bit off sometimes, but other than that u did a nice job thinking outside the box with the distortion/ melody form definatly a direction you have alot of talent in, keep it up

wow

wat program did you use to write this? Im assuming its just an incredibly realistic sound engine, but if it is done on computer, ive gotta get this program

NOOOOOOO

FOR THE LOVE OF MUSIC DO NOT MAKE THIS INTO A DnB OR TECHNO SONG. This is one of the few piano songs that I've heard that i could listen to for the next year and not get tired of outside of a House soundtrack. If anything, make a piano Concerto out of this. I might just be saying that because im more into orchestrals than solo instrumentals, but nonetheless, this has potential beyond anything else on Newgrounds Ive heard so far.

I'll propably leave it as it is.
Thanks for listening ;)
And a review

could use some work

the endings of the phrases could definatly have rang out more, the pan flute in the beginning for instance was too sticatto on its last note. You also kinda dragged the ending on a bit too long. Another suggestion, not so much about the notes or rythems, but about the song itself, is that alot of people nowadays are doing covers and this didnt exactly bring anything new to the table. I dont want to sound like a dick when i say that but you have to admit, theres alot of covers to this song on newgrounds alone

Legatoblue4 responds:

Lol, the "pan flute" is the original from the game so everything else you claim i will ignore. Plus, nothing is original anymore but I can still enjoy what I make. Lastly, I made this for my beloved, not newgrounds. But thanks for the review ^ ^

well done

i completely agree with you that most video game covers dont make it well into the classical genre, and you have definatly made an impact on how people will judge the transition. The only reason you got a 9 is because the transition into the song of storms was a little bit. As i said before, this was one of the best video game songs Ive heard, better than the origional to boot

BlazingDragon responds:

Thanks for the constructive criticism. By the way, I love your user name. Lacrimosa is my favorite movement of the Mozart Requiem!

not shabby

like the guys before me said, the cluster chords at the beginning and end had too much overtone, try using a different instrument that will give less dissonance, even with a dissonant chord such as a piano or even choir. The solo instrument in the bulk of the song didnt seem to go well with the rest of the piece to be honest

more on the DnB side...

Definatly a great sounding song, i gave u a 8 because the chord progression was really repetative, and not exactly symphonic-like. I definatly like the DnB feel, but the symphonic side didnt really come though. The only orchestral/symphonic thing u had was a string, choir, o piano part playing out the chord progression and sometimes holding a harmony part. Like i said though, awesome track, just needs to be tweaked a bit

beautiful piece

its extremely hard to find pieces like this anymore, very nice job

SolusLunes responds:

Glad you liked it!

uve got some potential

wonderful piece, although i expected a little more chromaticism from the title, you definatly didnt seem to be afraid to use some odd accidentals, you should check out some of Shoenberg's songs, you definatly seem like a 12-tone kind of writer from what this song suggests. keep up the good work

Gozchev responds:

Thank you, I'll go ahead a give a listen to some Shoenberg!
